Hello Friend! I hope you had a good weekend and enjoyed time away from the normal weekly routines that you and your family keep. I experienced a rare thing this morning as I drove to church alone (I was serving today and needed to be there earlier than the majority of my family). The drive to church from our new home is a beautiful one through some small farms and over a large lake. The sun was at that angle that somewhat blinds you and yet also reminds you that it’s good to be alive. As I crested a hill, and began to cross the bridge with worship music blasting in my car, I was overwhelmed and overcome with such an incredible view that for a moment my heart and soul joined creation’s song in worship to our Creator God. I was reminded that even the rocks, trees, lakes and flowers are yearning for His full restoration glory. This world is broken and hearts are hurting and people are dying but above all there is a good God with a great plan and He has not left us as orphans and He will not delay in accomplishing all His plans for us and this world.
Easter is only a few weeks away and we will celebrate the fact that Jesus is proof that God has plans for us even in the waiting. He will not delay His return, His help, His victory or our rescue. Mary had to wait after the angel told her she would give birth to the Savior of the world. The nation of Israel waited for the Messiah. Heaven waited for the return of the Word made flesh. The disciples waited for the Holy Spirit to fall in Jerusalem at Pentecost. The onlookers waited for the King of the Jews to take Himself off the cross and yet, He had bigger plans. The grave waited for the glory of the Lord to bring the Son of God back to life. The rocks waited to be rolled away from the tomb. And we find ourselves waiting today for Jesus to come again as King of kings and LORD of lords; to rule and reign over His creation. We wait for every knee to bow and every tongue to confess that Jesus is Lord! We wait with a knowing deep within us that HE WILL NOT DELAY!
Oh dear one, be brave and courageous! Do not fear for the same Jesus that rose from the dead is the same Jesus that prays over you constantly and He has a good plan and He is working for you. He will not delay, He will surely come.
“For still the vision awaits its appointed time, it hastens to the end-it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it, it will surely come, it will not delay.”
Habakkuk 2:3
“Rejoice in hope. Be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.”
Romans 12:12
“You also, be patient. Establish your hears, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.”
James 5:8
In the early morning when the east displays a thin orange line,
All creation rouses from its sleep and waits for the sun to shine.
In the late winter months when the ground begins to thaw and the temps begin to rise,
All the buried bulbs and the fuzzy green leaves-even the bright blooms hear the Spring cries.
In that nine months journey when the once tiny heartbeat grows arms, legs, eyes and nose,
All the tissue, bones and marrow miraculously join together and wait to be exposed.
In that span we call life on earth, however long or however short it may be,
All of the heart and soul have an eternal yearning to be complete in only Thee.
We are waiting oh Lord. We are watching for You. Just like the men and women of history past,
We know that time is approaching and we will behold You at last.
Whether You take us to glory or come with the trumpet blast,
We are waiting and we are watching for you to clasp our hearts within Your nail-pierced hands and hold us to your chest.
We want You, we need You and we will, by Your grace hold fast to the faith that you have planted in the good soil You have tilled.
Let us be ready and let us be still.
Let us join with all creation in eagerly waiting and seeking and blooming and shining until you return and cast the great enemy into eternal darkness,
Then and only then we will be eternally free to love and worship and fully enjoy only Thee.
Beautiful! Thank you’d for sharing!
